Our Aim?

You can now 'follow' Te-Arts on facebook.

Tempus Effectus is a non-profit Dance and Performing Arts Company, set up by Miss Helen Perry, to benefit young people in the Middlesbrough area.

Our aim is give students, who enjoy dance and stage performance, opportunities to follow and develop these passions; we also aim to support young performers who wish to become professionals on stage.

Dance is not something that should only be enjoyed by more fortunate young people, we believe it is something that everyone should be able enjoy.

If you would like to get involved please get in touch!

Theatre Craft

In this we will look at improvisation, poems, scenes for plays and musical theatre. Students are expected to ‘have a go’ as it takes real guts to perform on stage, so we encourage a supportive group who support performers at all stages in their development.

Students will be able to develop these skills for the stage, in order to take examinations, and to build confidence in other aspects of their life.

Free Style Dance

This covers a range of dances including: Line dance, fast rhythm, slow rhythm, rock and roll, soul, reggae, disco/freestyle, boogie, hip hop, street and lyrical. Free style is a modern form of dance which takes influences from ballet, Latin, jazz, ballroom and other more traditional styles, which allows you to express yourself in a range of ways using music that is important and influential in your life.

Dance Competitions

Once a dancer has been at our school for some time and participated in some classes they may decide they want to take part in dance competitions around the country, with a chance to win trophies.
